Which Massage Fits Your Goals?

These services overlap more than their names suggest, and your therapist tailors every session. The simplest way to think about the difference:

Swedish

Choose it to unwind. Flowing strokes at lighter to moderate pressure, with relaxation as the priority. You can still point out a tight neck or shoulders for extra attention.

Deep Tissue

Choose it for slow, sustained work on tense muscles, with firm pressure your therapist adjusts to your comfort. You can ask for more or less pressure at any point.

Sports

Choose it to organize the session around specific areas, like desk-tight shoulders or a stiff lower back. The techniques vary to fit the area. You do not need to be an athlete.

Hot Stone

Choose it if you relax best with warmth. Heated stones are part of the massage from start to finish, rather than an optional extra.

Choosing a length: 30 minutes typically suits one focused area. 60 minutes can give you time to relax and still focus on an area or two. 90 minutes typically allows time for full body work plus focused attention.

Popular Massage Options

Choose by how you want the session to feel, and your therapist will tailor the rest to you.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage uses slow, sustained strokes and firm pressure to reach the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The work is focused, and the pressure is adjusted to your comfort throughout the session.

New to massage? You do not need to know your pressure preference in advance. Your therapist will check in with you, and you can ask for more or less pressure at any point.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage, sometimes called a classic massage, uses long, flowing strokes with mild to moderate pressure. It is a gentle style of massage and a good choice if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing session. Relaxation and attention to a tight spot can go together: just tell your therapist where you would like a little extra time.

Good to know: If you prefer hard or deep pressure, Deep Tissue Massage is the better fit.

  • 45 min · $70
  • 60 min · $90

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a targeted session organized around the areas you want worked on, like a tight neck and shoulders from desk work or a stiff lower back, rather than a general full body routine. You do not need to be an athlete to book it. Your therapist may combine Swedish and deep tissue techniques with focused modalities such as trigger point work, myofascial release, orthopedic massage, and active isolated stretching, depending on the areas you choose. See Techniques & Adapted Care below for more on each modality.

Prenatal & Postpartum Massage

Prenatal and postpartum massage follows the same relaxing approach as a regular massage, with special bolsters and positioning for the comfort of mom and baby.

Good to know: As a studio precaution, we ask that you be at least 8 weeks pregnant before your prenatal appointment.

Personalize Your Massage

Featured Add-On: Cupping

Cups are placed on your body in specific areas to create suction on the skin's surface. You can add cupping to a Deep Tissue, Swedish, or Sports massage while you book. People usually add it for focused work on a specific area, most often the back. Cupping can leave temporary marks on the skin where the cups were placed. Add-ons are always optional: a massage on its own is a complete appointment.

Specialized Care

Sessions adapted to specific needs and stages of life, provided by the therapists trained in each one.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

With Desirée or Kourtne

Lymphatic drainage massage is a very gentle service performed with light pressure, using slow, methodical strokes that follow the body's lymph pathways. People choose it for general relaxation, or help with a feeling of mild puffiness or temporary fluid retention.

A note on scope: ours is a general lymphatic drainage massage for wellness. We do not provide Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), the clinical technique used in lymphedema care within Complete Decongestive Therapy. If you have diagnosed lymphedema, swelling after surgery, or a referral for MLD, call or text us before booking and we will talk honestly about whether our service fits.

Focused Sessions & Bodywork

Shorter or more specialized sessions, and several are fully clothed. Cupping and scalp massage can also be added to a massage; see Enhance Your Session below.

Hot Stone Massage

With Michele

During a hot stone massage, smooth, flat, heated stones are placed on areas of your body and held in the therapist's hands to glide along the muscles as part of the massage strokes. The warmth of the stones is part of the session from start to finish.

This is the full session, built around the stones. Stones can also be added to another massage as a $20 add-on; see Enhance Your Session below.

Assisted Stretching

With Kourtne

Assisted stretching is a guided, hands-on session with a trained practitioner. With controlled support, the practitioner moves you through stretches that go a little further than stretching on your own, and the session is tailored to you. Equipment such as a stretch table or straps may be used. Choose it when you want a session centered on guided stretching and movement rather than massage strokes.

Good to know: This is a stand-alone session and does not include massage therapy. The 25 minute session focuses on major muscle groups; the 50 minute session is a full body stretch. You stay fully clothed for this session, so wear comfortable clothing you can move and stretch in, such as workout clothes.

  • 50 min · $95

Reflexology

With Desirée

Reflexology is a focused session of pressure applied to points on the feet and hands, points that are traditionally understood to correspond to other areas of the body. It is a quiet, targeted alternative to a full body massage. Consider it if you would like the whole session focused on your feet and hands.

Craniosacral Therapy

With Desirée

Craniosacral therapy uses very light, gentle pressure, mainly around the head and the base of the spine. It is a quiet, still style of session, quite different from a traditional massage. Consider it if you prefer very light touch and a quiet, still session.

Good to know: You stay fully clothed during this session. Comfortable, non-binding clothing, such as exercise or yoga wear, is recommended.

  • 30 min · $65
  • 45 min · $95
  • 60 min · $110

Chair Massage

Chair massage is done in a seated position in a specially designed massage chair, and you stay fully clothed. Your therapist works over your clothing and may focus on your neck, scalp, arms, and hands. It is a good introduction to massage and a popular choice for offices and events.

Infant Massage

With Kourtne or Michele

Infant massage uses gentle Swedish massage techniques and an organic oil on your baby's skin. You stay with your baby during the session, and the therapist walks you through the techniques so you can use them at home as part of your everyday routine.

  • 30 min · $40

Cupping (Standalone)

With Kourtne or Michele

Cupping is a standalone session in which plastic or silicone cups are placed on the skin, most often on the back, and left in place for 1 to 10 minutes at a time. Massage strokes may be used during the session as well. If you would like cupping as part of a massage instead, book your massage and choose cupping as an add-on.

Good to know: Cups may leave temporary marks on the skin.

Raindrop Therapy

With Michele

Raindrop Technique combines aromatherapy with light massage techniques. A series of 7 to 9 undiluted essential oils is applied to the skin during a quiet, unhurried session.

Raindrop Technique applies a series of pure, undiluted essential oils to the back and feet, so it isn't the right service for everyone. Please talk with us before booking if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take blood-thinning medication or have a bleeding disorder or an aspirin sensitivity, or have allergies to mint-family plants such as oregano, thyme, basil, or peppermint. This service is for adults only. We also can't apply the oils over broken, irritated, or healing skin, so if you have sensitive or eczema-prone skin, asthma, epilepsy, or liver, kidney, or heart concerns, check with us (and your doctor, where that applies) first and we'll help you choose a service that's a good fit.

  • 30 min · $70

Scalp Massage with Essential Oils

A focused massage of the head, neck, and scalp, with essential oil worked into the scalp and attention to the temples and neck. Book it as a short session on its own, or as an add-on that adds 10 or 20 minutes to a massage.

  • 10 min · $15

Normatec 3 Leg Compression

The Normatec 3 uses dynamic air compression in leg attachments that fill with air and then release in a sequence, working from your feet up your legs in five zones. The system has 7 compression levels, and each session begins with a short pre-inflate cycle while the attachments mold to the shape of your legs. Sessions are often booked before or after a workout, or after a long day on your feet.

Good to know: This service is not bookable online. To arrange a session, call or text us.

Before You Book

Finding Us

Our studio is in the red brick building to the left of the Trolley Barn Public Market entrance on East Broad Street, on the second floor above A'Latte Café. Please note the studio is not wheelchair accessible.

Your First Visit

Plan to arrive a few minutes early. Your therapist will review your intake form and health history with you before your session begins. New to massage? Our FAQ covers what to wear and how draping works.

Cancellations

Please give at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee. See our Terms for the full policy.

How Long Should I Book?

Thirty minutes typically suits one focused area. Sixty minutes can give you time to relax and still focus on an area or two, and a 60 minute booking is a full 60 minutes of hands-on time. Ninety minutes typically allows time for full body work plus focused attention. If you are unsure, call or text us and we will help you pick.

Not Sure You Chose Right?

That is fine. Tell your therapist your goals and how the pressure feels when you arrive; they will talk it through with you before the session begins, and you can ask for adjustments to the pressure and focus during it.
